Red face ENGINE TEMP LIGHT!? Help?

Popped on after I went through some BIG puddles, like 2 feet of water at some points, replaced the sensor on the water pump. My temperature gauge has either never worked or the truck just perpetually runs insanely cold, but the engine temp. like just popped on, it flickers sometimes and after a long time of waiting it goes away when it's first started, but flickers back on after a couple minutes.

I'm guessing there's another sensor that I'm missing, any ideas?

Rick, this question is with all due respect, but I see it all the time.
Right side of motor is sitting in cab or standing in front of bumper looking at engine?

Is it easily seen from the top of the engine/under the hood 'cause I can't seem to find it. I wasn't looking too hard, but is it down in there, or what. Easier access from where? And yes I realize this is a stupid, lazy question, but I don't care.

Looking at it from the front. Follow the EBPV sensor tube from the sensor toward the left . Right where The tube turns toward the rear of the engine, directly under the alternator bracket, you will see the wire below the tube. the sensor mounts horizontally ...

BINGO! Tim's got the right pic.

If you've swapped a new Gauge sender and the gauge still reads low, your T-stat is shot
