I searched, but couldn't find an answer to this, so here goes.
I have noticed occasionally while stopping that my truck will give a little surge just before it stops completely. When this has happened during the day, I have looked to see if I was inadvertently pushing both brakes and gas, but I wasn't! It doesn't do it regularly, just occasionally, but it is a little unnerving when it happens. Anyone else experienced this, or have an answer to what it is, or might be causing this? Oh, truck is equipped with automatic trans and 4.2L V-6.
I've caught myself having this problem from time to time.....but its always been my foot hitting both pedals..........sure your not driving a tundra??? LOL
NO soup for you, and NO Tundra for me! I wish I were hitting both pedals, I could correct that, but maybe you've got a point there.......... Do you suppose Ford is using second-hand Toyota accelerators, hmmmmmmmm.........
Let me try explaining this way. It feels like when you come to a stop with a straight transmission and haven't pushed the clutch in. The engine is idling, but you can feel it pulling, and then it drops off when you push in the clutch. This feels the same way, like the TC isn't letting go, or the tranny is in a higher gear, and didn't gear down.
Dont know if this is relevant here, but had the same issue on my 97 4.2. Cleaned out the IAC(Idle Air Control) valve and all was well. With that being said...the truck did have 160,000 miles showing on the clock.

IAC Hey, I'm open to all solutions! Mine has only 22,000 miles, but who
knows...
By the way Ryan50hrl, just what is the warranty on my truck, bought new by me? (I see that you have a 2007 as well) I can't find it now, but it seems to me that when I bought it, I got notice of a warranty extension shortly thereafter. Am I right, or CRS'ing again? Maybe I do have warranty left!............
IF im not mistaken,Engine/Tranny warranty are to 60,000 miles.Your Idle problem may be covered. My 07 has 39,000 on her clock, and I figure to have her paid off by the time the mileage warranty expires.Hope Ive headed you in the right direction.

Great, still under warranty! I'll start keeping track of this and bring this to Ford's attention at my next service! Thanks for all input. On the other hand, if it gets worse, we won't be waiting for the next service!
