Front shock recommendations

Just had my new EX state inspected and found out I need new ball joints and sway bar links. I figured while I am "into it", this might be a good time to replace the front shocks as well.

It is a 2003 with 7.3 and 4WD. It is stock but at some point in the future I would like to add a 2" lift.

Any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated!

Thanks, Tom

Check to make sure but I think the stock size Bilsteins will accommodate a 2" lift.

I went with the rancho 9000's, and when I replaced the stock springs with v and b codes (resulting in a 2" lift) the stock 9000's worked fine.
With the heavier dsl motor you might want to look into the heavier x or w codes to still come out with 2" lift.

Ex03AK & wallz; thanks for your time & input!

Based on a recommendation from a good friend of mine who also happens to be the manager of a large repair facility, I went with Reflex shocks from NAPA; (Monroe). I haven't installed them yet but I will post up again after I have them on the EX for a little while and let you know what I think.

Thanks again!

I have the Reflex on mine. Huge improvement over stock! I have never ridden on anything else in an Excursion so I have nothing else to compare them to.
