'76 intermittent wipers?

I bought my truck a couple of weeks ago. It's a '76 F-250. The **** control for the wipers has low, high, and an intermittent range. The intermittent range does nothing, but the low and high settings work properly. I would like to know if the intermittent wipers were an option on this truck and they just arent working or if it has the wrong control **** in it and was never meant to have the intermittent wipers. Thanks for any help

Intermittent wipers were available in 1976. On your truck? On my 1973 F250 XLT, I had to add them recently. When I did, the intermittent worked, but I had to turn the plug around to get the washer to work, as it fits two ways in the existing wire harness. Maybe the switch has gone bad or just a bad connection, but they are readily available at the pick and pull yards. I would pull it off, look at the connections, clean it up with an electronics cleaner and reinstall to see if it works, but before putting the console back together just in case you need a replacement switch. Ok thanks Robert. I will have to get around to tinkering a little with her. Just came off the road as a long haul driver so never really had much time before.
