After pulling out my old, tired bench seat getting ready to put in a different bench seat, I noticed that the rear floor pans on my '78 F150 are shot. The cab mounts look solid, at least for now, but just behind them the floor has rusted out.
What I need to know is, can you buy rear floor pans? I've looked a little bit, and have some catalogs coming, but so far I've only found front floor pans.
I'm really trying to avoid having to replace the cab altogether. The rest of the cab seems solid, though there may still be more surprises lurking for me. The PO has already replaced the front floor pans, so those are fine.
I'll try to get down to my dad's house, where my truck is being stored until it's street legal, and get some pictures tonight if they are needed.
I don't know how good the steel is in my parts truck, but I think it's ok. I know the front floor pans are bad, but thought the rest was ok. Let me know if you want me to check. Or if you find more pieces that you need.
I forgot to get you that catalog yesterday. It's LMC Truck. www.lmctruck.com After you left I finished putting my truck back together and it's running again.
We were almost back to my dad's house when I realized I forgot to get that catalog from you. I ordered one last night; should be here in a couple of weeks.
I'll certainly let you know if anything else comes up. I'm going to see if I can get the floor pans first, I think it might be easier than cutting 'em out.
Congrats on getting yours running again! It'll be a good month before I'm ready to take mine for it's first real drive... And a slow process of getting it restored more.
Lmc doesn't have the rear pans at least in the catalog . I have the same problem but I'm not sure how to get the good floor pan out of my parts truck with out tearing it up .
