89 4.9 EEC-IV question

I am going to be putting an M90 on my 4.9, running 5 PSI boost. I have read that the EEC-IV ecu will handle boost up to 8 PSI, is this correct? My ecu is out of an 89 F-150 with a manual tranny, currently running it on my 84 E-150 with a brand new engine. IIRC, there is a guy on this site who should've had the same ecu and ran a turbo on his. I tried Megasquirt, but couldn't get it to behave like it should.

This ECU can't "handle" any boost since it's not designed for a motor with positive manifold pressure, but that doesn't mean you can't use it for the application. What is required is an FMU to raise fuel pressure in line with blower boost and an ignition box that either automatically removes advance with input from a knock sensor or one with manual retard control.
