Hello,
I have a 71 Ford F100 with a C-6 Tranny. Can anyone please tell me if the neutral saftey switch operates the back up lights or is there a seperate switch for that and if so, where is it located. Information is very much appreciated!!!
The pin on the neutral safety switch that the colunm is supposed to control is broken off on my '72 w/ C6. I have no reverse lights when colunm is put into "R"

Yes - it does control the reverse lights and also prevents the truck from starting in gear.
It is towards the bottom of the steering column on under the dash. There is a metal tang that snaps down onto the column and the switch is screwed on with two screws. If is broken, get one from a junkyard.
It also may just need adjusting - loosen the screws and it will move to the left and right. You can also manually test with car off and in reverse to see if lights come on.
