neutral saftey switch

I just purchased a 1994 Bronco and am having trouble finding the neutral saftey switch on e40d tranmission any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is no neutral safety switch. The sensor is commonly referred to as the MLPS (Manual Lever Positioning Sensor) and it not only tells the computer when the transmission is in neutral but every OTHER gear as well. The fully electronic E4OD requires this setup so that the computer "knows" what the transmission is supposed to be doing. The MLPS is located on the driver's side of the tranny at about the midpoint fore-to-aft. If you need to replace it, you will end up with a newer version that will require changing the connector on the wiring harness. Don't worry though, Motorcraft includes the new connector with the MLPS.
