Ford NEVER called it corporate blue, it is a label that has been attached to that color in an attempt to differentiate from other years of different shades of blue. 66fdtrucknut is right, I don't care what you like to call it, but this is how information is passed on that others believe to be correct. When I was shopping for the correct Ford blue for my motor, is when I learned that corporate blue is the correct blue for chevy.
Who ever got that V8 painted green, I think that looks real nice too. Bottom line, paint it what ever color you like, and call it what ever you like,......I was just stating for the record. Now I know what Bill ND goes through,....
Enough of the semantics already, whether Ford officially used the name or not "Ford corporate blue" is the accepted nomenclature by enthusiasts, i don't believe anyone here is going for Concours level authenticity.
i prefer duplicolor 'old ford blue' its the lighter of the two, duplicolor calls the darker 'new ford blue' old ford blue just happens to be my favorite color.
--- heres a pic of my 306, its old ford blue with duplicolor metalcast(turns chrome into 'blue anodized') sprayed wet-on-wet with engine clear overtop. the metalcast paint makes shiny parts really pop like the heater outlets and adds just a little more shine to the rest of the paint, i am really happy with how it turned out
if you look at my other pics i actually had my truck painted to match old ford blue with a custom dupont basecoat/clear. its gonna make it hard when i go to get the new bed painted!
