To the OP just buy a can of each and see which shade of blue matches the best...

Krylon #1923
Duplicolor #1606
Plastikote # 224

they're all Ford blue, just varying shades but if you're after an original look i think the 224 comes the closest.

I also noticed the color comes out a little different when you first spray it, compared when it drys. I like the dark blue it is period correct for our dents.

It's probably just the lighting (or lack there of) i've seen the 1606 in the sunlight and it's pretty close to original.

This is my 352 I used por-15 engine kit, Ford corporate blue. I am real happy with the way it came out. This pic doesn't do any justice. I got the timing chain cover and headers both ceramic coated. Don't know about black being a chevy color. I have a stock 223 in my 62' pretty sure they're black block, Ford red valve cover.
