Chris, I bought a running '76 F-150 as a donor. I harvested the complete PS and PB systems. I also used the C-6 to convert my truck to an automatic transmission. I sold the engine, rear axle, gauges, steering column (I used a '70 steering column for my Slick) and the trim. Then I scrapped what was left, and made more money off the sales than I paid for the truck.
If you are referring to a recessed step, then no, your '65 is normal.
That "kickplate" recess is found on all '64 and earlier F-100s, and on F-350s up to '66.
73 thru 79 F100 or F150 is a bolt on as is any engine offered by ford in that time frame in trucks.
A early 61 to 64 rad support is the same dimensionally and need to have the mounts added for the aprons the correct 4x4 rad and a hole drilled for the battery box bolt.
I have a 1961 F100 styleside splitbody 4x4 that's been in the barn for the last 35 years. Looks like factory new condition. I'm thinking of selling it! It has the orginal licence plate, original sticker, and orginal keys. I heard that Ford only made 155 of them!
I have a 1961 f100 4x4 styleside splitbody in the barn covered for the last 35 years. It looks like almost new factory condition. The original license plate, sticker, and keys are all in mint condition. I would like to sell it. Any suggestions or comments feeel free to e-mail me bisoncreek@sti.net

hey guys finally pulled a number off my block it is D7TE-A2B. could someone tell me what engine i have please?
This is the bare block casting number found on a 351M or 400 from a 1977/79 F100/350 or 1978/79 Bronco.
8 valve cover bolt holes per side.
The fuel pump mounts to the left (drivers) side of the engine block (the bolts are at 12 & 6 o'clock), because there is no timing cover used on these engines...just a flat plate.
You'll have to measure the stroke to determine which engine it is. Stroke: 351M = 3.50" / 400 = 4.00"
1973/86: The complete 9" rear end will not fit...it's too wide.
In addition, 1968/83 F100's, 1975/96 F150's, 1978/96 Bronco's: The rear brakes are 11" x 2 1/4" / 1948/52 F1's, 1953/67 F100's: The rear brakes are 11" x 1 3/4"
1980 and later F100/150 & Bronco's have 3" wide rear springs. They're 2 1/4" on 1957/72 F100's, some 1973/79 F100/150's.
that sucks about the rear end will the chunck out of that bronco rear fit into the proper sized 9 inch at least? also i've heard bad things about these engines, as far as trying to get power out of them. are they a decent motor to hop up? if so any suggestions?
