muffler delete?

muffler delete?
hey guys i was checking out some exhaust prices and was wondering if anyone has a muffler delete and what they think of it. i dont know if i want to go with a 4 or 5in pipe so any comments, experience, suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

I am currently running a 4 inch exhaust with a straight pipe and was very happy with it until I recently heard Jim's(rat49f6) truck which has a 5 inch exhaust with a straight pipe. My opinion, go with the 5 inch and straight pipe it, sounds sick!

I dont have 5", never had 5", so I can not give any comment to it other then when Diane at DP came out and said that a 5" could actually slow spool time of the turbo. This may be something you might want to consider. ALthough I am not sure that in what little I have done to my truck and how I use my truck, it would make a difference. I dont expect to be looking to shave off a couple of 10's on the quater mile anytime soon.

just bought a 4" MBRP from clay...last weekend removed the muffler. hands down the BEST mod i have done so far. sounds good and loud, throttle response feels better. i did keep the muffler in case i need it for inspection or something. i just used some 4" band exhaust clamps and a 24" pice os 4" exhaust tubing. i was hesitant on removing the muffler, but it runs and sounds great...good luck

John, I did the muffler delete til i could afford the bigger exhaust...It opened up the engine to breathe. the same day I put the 6637 in. I got the kit from Clay at RRD. It was like a whole new truck. Now I just need to get pics up!!! BTW love the new tone of the exhaust!
