been knocking since i bought it, was quieter back then.
always thought it was an injector, until i replaced it
ive only put about 5k on the truck, its not the daily driver
at any rate, any ideas on how much rebuilding it would cost?
ive seen complete kits on ebay for $1300, dont know if the parts are
quality or not
Couldn't you pull the head and oil pan, unbolt the connecting rod, push the rod/piston out, and replace the bearing that way or is it assumed that the journal is toast?
dont know if I should get my crank turned and put in thicker bearings or just stay
with new original sized bearings and get new crank, been checking on ebay and finding good used cranks for $100-200. I wouldnt think pulling the head is neccessary, with the pan off the piston should drop out the bottom to be inspected
ill probably tear it apart and inspect before getting any parts for it, the truck is
pretty beat, might end up parting it out if its too bad, just saw an ad for a super clean 93 f350 4x4 quad cab for 4500 , seems reasonable.
but if i end up keeping it ill get back with you about the parts, thanks
well, not sure how well it would work on the diesel, but my 400 i just pulled the plug wire to the bad cylinder and kept drivin it. kinda backyard, but depending on what you use it for it might work for ya
well, started pulling pan off, but having hell of a time.
got the motor up so far the the gp relay is diggin in the firewall, tommarow ill
attempt to pull the oil pickup off, anybody know how it comes off, can only see one
bolt kinda in the middle, does the tube come off of the pump???
