Front seat help!

I have a 96 F250 single cab. I would like to get a new seat for it. The one I have is beat and being held together with duck tape! The some big tares in it. Was a work truck befor I got it. It is a bench seat. I would like to get one that the passenger and driver side are not together. Like capitin chairs with a senter console.

Any ideas on where to get one? I have looked around junk yards and savage place. I would like it to be new. It will end up as a graduation present I think.

Thanks Doug.

Those seats are getting harder and harder to find. I lucked out and found a set when all the cash for clunker deals were going on.. There were some nice F-series truck in the junkyards with perfect bodies and interiors. If the jackasses the moved the cars around wouldn't have forked the beds, I would have a few of those..

As for the armrest issue. If you have the one where the seatback folds down with cupholders and that little sliding pice to cover the cupholders, you have to push back then pull down on the seatback. Kind of like a ratcheting lock.

I have just bought some captains seats from a dually that I intend to put in my crew cab. If I can get them in with no problem, I will sell my current front seat which is 40-20-40 with the fold down arm rest/console. It is red. If you are interested let me know, it may take me a while to get this done though.

Did I mention it was red?

I'm wanting to do the same thing in my crew cab. Take out the bench and put in captain's chairs... maybe from a bronco.

From what I"ve read you might need to drill a couple new holes but they should fit just fine.

yes, there are holes to drill, and it is not easy to get around the heat flashing on the passenger's side.

I used high grade (8) bolts, with fender washers and nylock nuts. I bought a bunch of random legnth bolts that are 3/8 shaft, 20 thread. I also coated the bolts on the underside of the truck with a waterproof marine adhesive/caulk. We use it for everything at work, and I know first hand that it is a PITA to remove.

When dealing with the heat flashing around the cat, I was able to cut through the flashing with a sharp carpender's knife. It sucks trying to line up bolts, and having a helper while trying to install bolts and nuts is a big plus. And a sixer of Miller High Life Light makes things go much quicker. Just post the code from the inside of the box on here, I need the points to get my beer cooler.

I lucked out and found them on craigslist not far from my home. The came out of a 95 duelly and are the same as my factory red seats now. I also have the back seat I am selling out of my cc. It folds into a bed.
