So i took out my EGR valve, it was very nasty. I cleaned it with a toothbrush and large can of parts cleaner. My question is should i be concerend with the amout of carbon suit build up in the intake. I did not clean that out, as i would not be able to get all of it out. Only what i could see through the opening. Should i take it to the dealer and have them do the egr intake cleaning. Its about 500 big ones, or is that just ofer rated. My EGR code did go away, truck seems to be running better.
I would save the 500 big ones and put it toward an EGR delete down the road. I pull my EGR every 6 months and clean it. I always keep a extra EGR seal kit on hand just in case.
