Reason: UPDATE!!!
hello welcome to FTE greatest ford forum on the web! alot of great guys on here to help with your questions...although im not really much into the wiring part i try to stay away from that but i just wanted to welcome you...also would be nice to see pics my friend!!
Check the wiring on the hot side of the solenoid. That is the side that is connected to the positive terminal of the battery. The cold side of the solenoid is connected to the starter and is only energized when the key is turned to the start position. There are one or more fusible links built into the smaller wires connected to the hot terminal which feed everything else but the starter. Sounds like you have a blown fusible link or a broken wire. Maybe not but this is where I would start looking. Hope this helps...
The lights work seperately from the ignition switch so your problem is going to be no power to the cab. Have you checked to see if you have any voltage to the fuse box at all. I suggest like towman said start at the hot side of the selonoid anw work from there. Also check all wiret at the alternator and to the voltage regulator, I'm betting you have a bad fusible link.
