New guy questions
How accurate are those meters? I think people call them lie-o-meters or something. I've reset mine several times to see what it says. I had to drive down a road doing 50 mph, it was like a slow highway, and it went up to 40.1 mpg and was climbing up but I had to get off for my turn.
Another question, what tires do you guys have? I just bought my X and all the tires are pretty much beat and I need to get tires pretty soon. I have firestone tires now and don't like them.
What should I look for when buying diesel fuel? I remember a while ago a guy said he looked for something besides the price, something like low sulfur, I forget. I recently saw it on a sign but didn't know what it meant.
thanks for the help
I live in PA and had to get a 4x4 because of the snow when I go up the mountains in the winter. So I need a tire that can get me through the snow.

I run Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos year round. 6 months a year in snow and ice. I've had them for 5 Alaska winters and with 4x4 I've never had a problem...with one exception. Sheet of ice, trying to stop going downhill and couldn't. Studs would not have helped. Luckily the drivers with the right of way saw me coming and let me slide through.

Ultra low sulfur is the latest and greatest unless there is a particular property of ultra low your friend might be referring to.
I can't possibly tell you why though.Stew
for example, this past weekend i was on on a plowed seasonal road (icy but clear) pulled into a level drive that had 6" of fluffy, not heavy snow...I tried to back out and just spun, dropped it into 4 High (hubs were in manual lock) and still just spun, dropped it into 4 low, and had to rock it out...i get it turned around, and my my buddies 2 wheel drive w/o weight pulls into the same drive adjacent to where i was in same fresh snow, then backs right out, I was pretty pissed. I understand this truck is heavy, but there was 0 traction on the same surface, and he was fine. im at 1/2 tread left from original, and that may be a factor, but why should i have to get new tires, with seemingly enough tread to do the job. They might have been great new, when you get 1/2 tread left let me know how well they do.
