I was in the general diesel forum and there are a few guys with newer trucks with 6.0L with their dyno numbers. I would be kinda disappointed with the torque numbers if it was me.
There was an '03: 510hp/721tq, and a '06: 425hp/670tq.
I dynoed my truck with just a chip, intake & exhaust a few years back, 275hp/650tq, 2 years ago added stage 1's, wildman chip, rebuilt trans; 325hp/736tq.
Are those 6.0L motors really that weak? I know they rev high and that's how you get hp . But for me to be almost 200hp less but still have more torque than that '03 seems goofy.
I just thought it was interesting. I've thought of upgrading sometime for a newer truck and know you can fix the 6.0L to make them run well, but with those torque numbers I don't think I'll bother.

I wouldn't put so much stock in the dyno numbers game. But I would take 420hp/670tq over 375hp/736tq any day of the week.
I know not all dynos are equal and the same. But to me that's a pretty big difference that I've got ~200hp less but at least the same torque.
Why would you take 'more hp' over 'more tq'?? Just curious. I would much rather keep my numbers than trade for a 6.0L. But I guess it also depends on what you use your truck for.
I've always know it as: torque is how much work you can do, hp is how fast you can do it.
