Talking Engine Block Heater- How do you know it works...

I got 3 inches of snow up here on this mountain yesterday...i didn't even go outside until this morning...i always kindof wondered if the engine block heater was actually doing it's job...NOW I KNOW...there is exactly 3 inches of snow all over my truck, EXCEPT on the hood and front fenders...they are bone dry...i just felt like sharing...

Dont forget when its real warm under your hood that the neighbours cat could crawl up there to get warm.
Then when you start the truck it makes a mess when the cat goes through the fan.
Plus it wrecks things on the truck also.
Not fun..........................
If I see ats around my truck Ill slap the hood or even check under it sometimes, fan parts are expensive.

I don't think plugging your truck up melted the snow, it does not get that warm.

It does actually. It doesn't get hot, but it significantly reduces the accumulation on the hood and front fenders.

I am a nice guy Jim...(I think ),
I do like to stir the pot when I get the chance...I lived in the snowbelt(rustbelt) of Ohio for over 30 years, so the cold, snow and road salt are nothing foreign to me.
I have to hand it to all of you northerners that continue to brave the weather year after year....I dont have it im me anymore.
so when the oppertunity presents itself I may take a jab just for fun.
Plus I know David's a good sport
I hope you have a hot summer , you guys deserve it after this winter!!!
