Stock cam? That doesn't tell us anything.. depending what vehicle the motor is from it could be a pretty decent cam or complete junk. If this motor was from an old crown vic or truck the cam will severly limit the engines potential and it doesn't cost much to throw in another flat tappet.

Definitely remove those E6 heads.. every single SBF head ever made works better than those things unless they are fully ported. Add yes the pushrods and rockers from the E6 heads will work on E7's.

The motor came out of a 1986 mark 7 it had 5.0 ho on it but when I pulled it down it didn't have roller it had been rebuilt I don't know what cam it has now but I would think given the appearance of car it would have had a stock cam when it was rebuilt the pistons were .040 and the rod and mains were .010 also I am putting it in a 1955 f100 along with posi rear 327 ratio and aod trans with a chrysler 5th ave front end I will probably go with a mild cam and check with maker of cam to see about lift and clearance on valves Thanks Mike ps let me have some more feedback on combo I'm using

OK.. sounds like somebody swapped a low output 5.0 into a the Lincoln, that should not have been in there so it's a pretty safe assumption it also has the base cam. The Comp cam 35-234-3 or 35-238-3 will really wake it up without taxing the valvetrain.
