Roller rockers on 400 heads
NO to use the roller rockers on your 400 heads you'll have to mill the stands and add the guide plates... But those Boss 302c heads will bolt right up with a little modifcation.. All that's needed is to drill the water passage on the front top side of each head..Just lay the head gasket on it and trace to water passage hole on to the head. then block off the water passage on the intake side ...I use the adapted plates from Price motorsports to do this and just use some good silocon as a gasket... bolt to head and port match .......Add any 351c intake and it should all bolt together no problem....
There you go roller 400 with 302c Heads and 351c 4V intake.
Top it off with a 750 Vac. Sec. for the street and you have a killer setup.
And I also run the Crower 15481 roller cam with this set-up in my back up motor..Just make sure you don't use the roller lifter for the 351w with the oil holes on each side . or you'll over oil the up half of your motor .

Roller rockers on 400 heads
what i did with my 351m is i got the 1.73 ratio roller rockers for a 460 and a stud kit from comp cams that allows me to bolt up the roller rockers right up. the problem is that i had to get taller valve covers and that put a even bigger dent in my pocket. well worth it though!!
the kit has these guide plates that go under the studs and fill in the gap where the fulcrum goes. this is the cheapest way to go. if you cant find the kit, email me at beau_dorsey(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and i can refer you to the person that set me up. i got a deal from him. i paid about $150 for the full aluminum roller rockers and the kit. he was out of stock on the part i wanted, so he hooked me up with alternate parts for his cost.

Roller rockers on 400 heads
Im pretty sure that they are not 302 boss heads, i think they are 69 302 truck heads with Blue ford racing roller rockers on them. I was just wondering if they would work or not, i will probably buy the comp cams roller tip rocker arms, so i dont have to do any mods. Im still going to buy the roller cam and roller lifter retro fit setup though, any problems i might run into when installing this? Thanks Dan.

I think you're heading in the right direction. Boss 302 heads use the same 8 bolt valve cover style as the 400. If your 302 heads have 6 bolt valve covers, the rockers are different from the 400s. Likely a 1.6:1 ratio vs the 400's 1.73:1. I've never heard of them interchanging.
The only issue I can see with the retrofit set up is if you pick a cam with a lot of lift, say over .525". The stock heads only come with 5/16" threads for the rocker bolts.
