No but did notice a tear in the lower ball joint boot. The squeak kinda sounds like it may be coming from this location. Maybe I can shoot some grease in this cut for temporary fix dunno?
Well I greased the hell out of lower ball joint and squeak still persist. I have lubed every moving point I can see I just don't know. It's hard to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from I know the passenger side is as quiet as a mouse but driverside is another story. Squeak, squeak, squeak damn its annoying!!!
Did you check the ball joints and tie rod ends for excessive play?
FWIW, I've never heard a ball joint squeak (but I suppose it could) but on my 97 F150 the inner tie rod ends would squeak when they were bad.
I called myself checking, it didn't seem to have a lot of play at all. Yesterday it sounded like it was coming from cv boot area when I was underneath it. I replaced the cv half shaft on this side about 2-3 months ago. I wouldn't think cv shaft would squeak like this but dunno.
I have drilled and installed grease fittings in my upper ball joints. I figure if they are on their way out might as well try and this has fixed my squeek!
Nah, not really. But because it can be taken that way, instead of in the vein of "just a heads up..." way that it's meant, I find myself holding back half the time whenever I come across them.
