Squeaky Front Shock!!!!

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to stop a squeaking front shock. It's my drivers side front shock only. The shocks are fine as far as wear and ride, it's just this squeaking (very noticable in parking lots) thats about to drive me crazy!! Thanks for replies..

I think you'd have to replace the shock.....

I am glad to see I am not alone. I couldn't tell if it was my steering or suspension, But its definitely my shocks. I even went underneath and lubed all the rubber bushings with Kroil, Hoping it would solve the annoying noise; But its still there. I only have 34,000 on my truck, So I am not ready to put new shocks on yet.

I do not believe that is is the shock. I would look at pivot points of the suspension as the source of the squeak. Have you had someone bounce the truck while parked and you listen to the area?

I have an 06 F150 Supercrew... Changed the shocks at around 72k (Bilstiens) and I have the squeak you described. Its driving me crazy. Its NOT THE SHOCKS. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Hmm... Will check it out. It's a really high pitched squeak like metal on metal. Almost sounds like it's coming from the hub.

Yeah, I really notice mine when I am pulling out of the garage. When I put it in gear and step on the gas; Just before the truck moves it gives that "bathtub" squeak. That little bit of initial torque must effect the suspension somewhere. I know its not in the steering. It also does it when you have an extreme rise and drop in the road. I lubed every joint I could find, And still hear it.

I have lubed everything also and it still squeaks a little just not as loud. It's really getting annoying.

How did you lube the non-greasable ball joints and tie rod ends?

No but did notice a tear in the lower ball joint boot. The squeak kinda sounds like it may be coming from this location. Maybe I can shoot some grease in this cut for temporary fix dunno?
