Will a Borg-Warner T851A 3 speed trans with R-11 OD, fit in a 55 F100 with a stock 223 engine. I am wondering about the bolt pattern between the back of the bell housing and the trans.

What vehicle is this Borg Warner T-851A transmission from?
Ford used the Borg Warner T-85N in 1965/71 F100's with 240/300/302/352/360/390 engines, 1965/67 Galaxies w/352's.
Previous years used the Borg Warner T-86 w/overdrive.
What that T-851A is from, I dunno, but be aware that Studebaker passenger cars & trucks, Packard, Nash and Hudson also used a T-85 overdrive as did 1941/51 Lincoln's.
Will this trans fit your truck...or not? What voltage is the governor and solenoid? 6 volt, or 12?
Thanks for the help. I think i am just going to have to try and install it to see if it will fit. I didn't know that it was in so many different vehicles.
