There are two BW models that for used, the BW 1345 and the BW 1356. I think the 1345 was phased out around 1984ish??? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Both the models use the same mounting systems, both to the crossmember and to the tranny output.
There may be differences in spline counts for output shafts of the transmissions, maybe someone else has more knowledge on the specifics, but that's my best shot.
I have an 87 F150 302 Np 435 with a 1356 so unless there is a adapter i don't think it will without the adapter considering the ZF 6 spd is new and the 435 is an old 4 spd with a different bolt pattern.
You never said what year zf, I'm guessing a 1356 would bolt up, The 1345 was much shorter and different drop angle.
Just FYI..My stock ZF-6 (02 F-350) is mated to a NP transfer case, not a BW. What year ZF-6 were you looking at? They started putting them behind the 7.3PSD in 99 and the 5.4 & 6.8 in 02 (i believe).
I guess I'm not 100% sure, other than the year gives it away. I have a ZF 5spd at work that a 1356 bolts right up to, its from a BB truck 80's model. Since Borg had the contracts in the 80's ford for the T/C I think it would bolt right up.
Okay i got a pm from uncle junk he was misinformed he has a ZF 5spd so as witdog2020 pointed out you should be able to use that 1356 T-case with that ZF.
as Long a the ZF was from a 4X4, you should not have any problems.check the trans to t-case shaft connector for proper splines. also, before you go to all the bother putting it together, check that the lower trans mount bosses on the adapter are not broken, and that the t-case shifter mount holes are not stripped. i have seen a few of them broken due to the steel bolts seizing to the aluminum housing, and when you try to take them apart the boss snaps. the adapter housing is $200 from ford.
