My 2007 Ford 150 makes a horrible blender sound sometimes when i drive it. It almost sounds like the 4x4 is trying to kick in. The sound goes on for 20 seconds or so and stops.
Anyone else with this problem?
More than likely your shift solenoid thats on the pass side firewall has ingested water and is shorting out and putting it in and out of 4x4. Next time you here the noise, pop it in 4x4 and see if it goes away.

It sounds kinda like ice in a blender and is coming from the front of the truck?
If so, I believe your front needle bearing is going bad, and if you have the ESOF system you may have to replace the solenoid because of a rotted or broken vacuum line.
Those should help you if that is your problem. I had the same issue with my truck after I snapped off the vacuum line while being adventurous. It's not really that hard to do, I did both sides in about 2 or 3 hours.
