Weird sound

Noticed an odd sound coming from somewhere on my 2006 f150 fx4. I've tried to pin point it however it's difficult almost sounds like a metal on metal scraping sound. Figured I would change u joints on rear drive shaft. Still didn't get rid of sound. I took the rear drive shaft off again put in into 4x4 and drove around the block. I couldn't hear the sound. Drive shaft on with new u joints makes the sound.

Any help would be greatful

i had a similar sound. I ended up finding a heat shield that fell down and was rubbing on the drive shaft. If you look closely at the shaft you may see where the aluminum shield is marking up the shaft. Good luck
