So...... not to sound like a critic, but that master cylinder, square part is supposed to go down into that square hole and then rotate 1/8 turn and lock itself into the mounting point with the square tabs behind that reinforced wall. Not in front of it as it is in the picture.
Much in the same way that the slave cylinder mounts in the bell housing of the transmission.
He's got it right in the Pic. I think the confusion is he has a 05 6.0 truck and they have different pedal setup. It's plastic and flexes a lot hence where the stiffener bracket came from. It's a different setup then our 7.3 trucks which have a metal brscket. If he puts the slave cylinder like you were talking about on the other side then the bracket would be doing nothing to help stiffen it. It also helps by giving it full travel cause it's move back toward the pedal slightly.
Oh, ok thank you. It just looks like it's supposed to seat down and the square part locks it in. Only one time in my life I ever had to remove the clutch master slave assembly on my truck and that was a while back, LOL.

There is another lip on the other side we can't see in the Pic. That round lip your seeing on this side of the square is actually the pedal switch assembly. It's not a actual lip on the slave cylinder. If you zoom in some you can make it out.
