I just dropped my 6-spd manual transmission 1 month ago.
I replaced the clutch fork with a brand new YC3Z-7515-BB fork because the previous one was bent. While I had the transmission out, I also replaced the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate with a 400hp SouthBend kit.
Today I was showing someone my 140hp Extreme tune and did a very hard & fast shift between 3rd and 4th.
-Now when I press the clutch pedal to the floor the pedal shakes.
-Now the clutch slips when under a load.
-Now the clutch doesn't release until pedal is all the way out.
These were both symptoms of my last experience with a bent clutch fork.
Do I have to drop the tranny again and replace the fork? Is there an even stronger replacement fork? Should I reinforce it with some extra steel and nice welds?
You need a shop that does harding and anealing. They will harden and then soften a number of times and will really toughen up the steel. I raced a Toyota years ago and had trouble with the rods busting . The shop worked them over and I never threw another rod!! Check under heat treating!!
