Hey, guys. I'm doing what andym suggested in one of my previous threads. My fuel gauge in the front tank doesn't work, but the pump does and the rear tank's fuel pump don't work, but the fuel gauge does. So I'm dropping the rear tank to replace the fuel pump for now until I can afford to replace the sending unit. I took it to a mechanic because I'm so short on time, he quoted me a whopping $700! Needless to say, I'm doing it myself. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips or even a link to find some before I finish? I started pulling the tank last night, but I realized that the last bolt needs to soak with PB over night.
Okay, I'm in a snag and need some help. I've all but pulled the tank. The last thing is the fuel lines and from what I've read, they need a special tool. I've looked at advanced's site and there's more than one fuel line tool. I'm really stumped. Anyone else done this? I've seen pictures of tanks and mine looks really different.
The process is the same on the pump as the filter
On my 96, you had to use two different sizes, but I don't remember what they are. Hopefully someone else will know.
I really appreciate it, but it turns out I only needed one and for once, it was the right one the first time. Bad news is I need a new fuel tank. I've heard from a friend that a 33-gallon bronco tank will fit? My tank is just too rusty to use anymore and since I have it out and it's cheap for a new one, I'd rather just have a new one.

You might PM BCHauler, he's done this mod...

Yes, I did this mod and like it very much. Don't forget that you will also need a pump and sending unit out of a Bronco as well. The Bronco tank is twice as deep.

Unfortunately I bought the new fuel pump ahead of dropping the fuel tank and I can't really afford buying a new sending unit. I kind of figured that was the case but I thought I would check on it anyway. Do the fuel tanks hang that low on the broncos?
