I've driven nothing but trucks (and motorcyles) for 35 years - Then I got my Mom's 1993 F250 4X4 (106K miles) as a hauler. Great price...
It was a non-turbo from the factory and she had a Banks Sidewinder and trans command (E4OD) installed. Later down the road she upgraded the torque converter. Not sure who's. Other then that its stock; never eaten or smoked in. Even the cig lighter is a virgin. Damn good looking truck in and out. Just a few leaks and some minor rust. Starts Right up.. It ain't to fast but it pulls like a champ.
So anyway - I'm planning on some mods (cheap first - more later) but I know I will need a set of gauges. I searched the forum and everyone has a preference but I found that Glowshift was running a deal for a 3 gauge pillar pod, 30 PSI boost gauge + 1500* EGT gauge &+ Trans Temp Gauge along with sending units for $199.96 shipped to my door. (I have to paint the pillar pod)
At that price, I couldn't resist - so I guess I'll ask now before they arrive and I install them - As anyone had any issues lately with their gauges or sending units?
hey alright another 93 f250 owner.
welcome to the site 93.
i dunno about their gauges.im sure someone here has run them.
i just wanted to say, congrats on your new low millage rig!
Hey 93_F250 welcome to FTE and IDI ownership! I just recently did a lot of research into glowshift products. You will hear some good and some bad out there, overall I felt like I heard more good then bad. I plan to purchase the 3 gauge pillar with oil pressure, water temp, exhaust temp gauges from them next month. I will post install pics and gauge results when I am done. I already have a sunpro mini set in my truck now and plan to leave those to compare against the glowshift ones until I know they are accurate.
Thanks guy's - I hope to get the gauges (they said they were in stock and ready to ship) by this weekend - need to source a can of matching interior paint. Or have some mixed and give me an excuse to test out my small HVLP gun.
Here's a pic of my Truck and Car Hauler. Towed that puppy loaded with my my car to the Texas Mile.... Plan to paint the trailer two-tone to match the truck.
