So spring break is a couple weeks away and i finally got a couple days with out both work and school so its time to do maintenance on the old girl. I gotta change the oil, change all the brake parts ( shoes pads drums and rotors), put the gun rack in, clean the rear end sensor and find my oil leak. so i have a couple questions. what is the name of the rear end sensor and what should i clean it with? and where can i get a new one from? and where do the usual oil leaks come from? im goin to clean the total undercarrage of the engine to find it. thanks blake
how much oil is it leaking? and where is the dripping located? (front back left right)
um about a quart every two months or so. and the funny thing it doesnt drip. i check underneath my truck all the time for puddles and there never are any but bottom end of my engine and axle are covered in oil.
Does the truck smoke blue a lot or more than normal? And a leak that small could be the pedistal starting to leak, I would start there like Joe recommended.

no blue smoke at all. and what is the pedestal and how hard is that to fix? and what parts do i need to fix it. thanks
The pedestal is under the turbo. It is the turbo pedestal. The turbo mounts to it. There are two o-rings between the two. Be sure that is it before you try to remove the turbo. That can be a pain.
Clean the valley real good with simple green or something similiar and get in there with a flashlight and a small mirror.
ok yea thats what i was thinking it was. and if that is the problem then i will fix it when i do my exuast. and yea cleaning the valley seems like a great idea thanks neal. what is that stuff u mentioned?
