evening all. just got back from home depot. had to get some romex for a small wiring job.

 

Bud, was it really necessary to use that foul 4 letter word? This is supposed to be a family friendly site. Regarding that computer problem I asked you about, finally got it working. Had taken the first router back to Wally World & bought another one from Best Buy, plus a wireless ( antenna?) thingie ( plugged in to the sub port? ). Couldn't make it work, called Best Buy & their " Geek Squad " was going to charge $150.00 ( + applicable taxes ) to come hook up everything. Got a buddy to come out who speaks computer language, took him all morning & part of the afternoon, but he finally got it all working ( except the wireless thingie, just ran a wire to it ). Gave him $50.00 for his time & trouble. Feel like he earned it. Something about my dls split up the signal because it was a ppg(?) ppe(?) or whatever & he had to go in & re-program the router & / or computer or something. He even got my Vantage hooked back up & working. Copied a bunch of games from my main computer to the other one & installed some other ones. Very happy with the job he did. Obviously, I canceled Best Buy when he got everything hooked up & working. I'd guess he spent about 5 hours on everything all total.

Bud the room is wired just rewiring the outlets to a different circuit breaker since my room has to share a breaker with 4 other rooms. ( old house)

 

Right...what you told me yesterday.......

 

yeah figured I would get the outlets in my room rewired since the common wall between my room and the bathroom is open right now on the bathroom side.

I figure he earned every penny of that job Bud. He thought that was kinds high, but he needed the cash. Best Buy's estimate was based on 1½ hours. Didn't include copying / installing games. My niece has a 5 year old kid & when they visit, the kid likes to get on the computer & go to PBS Kids for games. Makes it hard for me to read when only 1 computer goes to the infernalnet. Only had one for a while & then some gal at work was selling the other one for $35.00. Included CPR, screen, & mouse. She didn't have a keyboard. I had a spare, so it worked pretty good.
