no good snow that i can speak of for branford. it was coming down really heavy at times but it was 34*f so nothing stuck. a lot of mud and water have accumulated.
im still here training in the dungeon, listening to german accents stroke their ego.
I met with the dealership's body shop manager today.
I asked him to just keep it simple, cut open the fiberglass to clear the rear tires and to roll back the rear edge of the front wheel well so that I had a flange to work from.
I sensed that the body shop manager was reluctant to get into fiberglass build up work around the wheel well. So I'll try my hand at it later.
I told the body shop manager that I wanted the flange in the front wheel wells so I can roll in a strip of stainless steel for a fender flare and have something to screw the strip into.
Dave could you thread out the factory stops, or are they cast in and non-adjustable?
Cast & Non-adjustable.
The mechanic suggested welding a block over the stop location on the 4WD yoke and I mentioned my concern for crack initiation (not knowing if its a casting or a forging and what metal / alloy is used?).
I suggested that the stud off the axle hub be tapped and then cut a bolt to length, the mechanic thought that the stub might be too weak after that.
At this time I don't know what might have been done, and after having heard about pitman arm limiters I'm trying to find such fabrications.

Has to come out of the body shop. I figure the fiberglass cut should go easy, but the rolling of the front fenders likely will take a couple days.
The service manager is still looking for the four stainless steel top-hats for the hubs. I suspect they will have to order those in and I'll have to come back to get them installed. I did hear that they went and go another Bilstien shock just to have the terminal hardware.
I keep lamenting to them about dropping the ball on the polyurethane bushings, I doubt they will do it, so the van gets out of there sooner.
