I've replaced the EGR Cooler with a bulletproof, new oil cooler and screen, flushed the Coolant system, added the coolant filter, Rerouted the CCV.
It runs great with no hesitation or white smoke, but.... No Boost! (or much power)
I plugged intake at the turbo and pressureized the manifold at the MAP sensor. I leak about .5 psi per second. Which isn't air tight but couldn't account for 0 boost.
I've cleaned the EP tube, and I would like to clean or replace the MAP hose only I can't find where it goes... Where is the MAP Sensor?
If that doesn't clear it up I'll clean the turbo...
When I hook up a gauge to the where the MAP hose should go I can make 7 psi in neutral at 2500 RPM (I get 0 with the MAP hose hooked up). When I apply 20 psi to the MAP hose I get no reading on the instrument panel (with the truck running in neutral).
LOL! I've been chasing a little gray vacuum hose looking tube.
I guess I tucked the MAP tube out of the way. Out of sight out of mind.
Well re-torque the intake manifold and pressure testing the whole thing didn't hurt anything...3 hours chasing no boost to a hose mix up! LOL
How’s that saying go. Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted…I’ll never forget what that hose looks like again (at least until next time).
Thanks William, you’ve saved what little hair I have left. BTW, Great Pics got me there in 2 seconds
I just spun around the town and the boost is back. (and I didn't blow off any pipes!)
Project done, errr well accept for that final flush of the coolant, and checking the brake pads, and the new steering damper, and the ball joints could be replaced, and swaping the lift gate for a regular bumper and gate, and...
Mark, I'll starting to see what you mean about this becoming an addiction
Sorry I just noticed the little gray hose in your picture. What is that suppose to be plugged into in the engine bay? Now that mine's not hooked into the Intake manifold it’s kinda hanging there.
Look just to the right of the MAP sensor for a vacuum valve/diaphragm on a heater hose. It should plug into that. Nipple in the center of the housing, pointing forward.
