i am seriously thinking of raising my 78 f150 4x4. however i have a few questions and this thread seems like a good place to ask them.
first is there a way of telling if a truck is lifted or not? other than just looking at it. i have a78 f150 that i am positive is not lifted. in november i bought truck, 77 f150 4x4, and it seems to sit higher than the 78. looking at the rear leaf spring pack something was definitely added. i can see the end of one of the springs was cut and it has more springs than the 78.
currently i'm in the process of stripping this parts truck. i have the front end off including the coil springs. they look a bit different, they are orange. not sure if it is paint or if it was some sort of plastic coating that is coming off. any way to tell if these are stock or not?
clhart426 i am a bit new to this so i don't completely understand the part about the "trac bar bracket for YOUR TRUCK" or the shackle flip. could you explain in a bit more detail for me please?
sorry for the long post and hope i'm not hijacking the thread.

Looks good. Did you go with the C bushings? I believe my F-150 has leveling springs installed by a PO. It does have some bump steer. I bought the C bushings but haven't put them in yet. I wonder if a pitman is in order as well. How does yours handle?

blocks aren't a fantastic solution, esp for a lot of lift, but just for 4" they aren't that bad. They won't affect your towing/payload but they will increase axle wrap/hop and that could hurt your traction. Your truck doesn't look too bad with those leveling springs on there and for $40 thats a nice solution. You could add an add a leaf if you want the rear to go up an inch or two.
