Coil and wires - which ones to buy?
What kind of ignition coil, wires and control module should I use on a mostly stock 400 in a 79 F250? I went to Napa and found that all three of these have various price levels available and don't know what I should be considering/looking at? Obviously, there is a perceived better quality by Napa, but is this due to the warranty length or are they actually better?
What is the difference between the Mileage Plus $20.19, Premium $42.00 and Heavy Duty $112.00 for wires? The first two are 8mm and the HD is 8.5mm. Which should I buy?
The coil offers a Mileage Plus for $18 and change vs. a Premium for $39. What is the difference and what about aftermarket coils? They are considerably more expensive, but what do you get for that?
They also have a cheaper ignition control module and I'm not sure what the difference is when you spend more.
This isn't a massively built truck - the 400 is bored 30 over from a fresh rebuild, has an RV cam and headers and a Carter 600 cfm carb on it.

I trust my parts guys at Oreilly's and Napa. Both stongly discourage buying the Mileage Plus stuff. Heck, my O'Reilly's guy has told me on numerous occations to go to CarQuest for all of my gaskets. Stay away from Mileage Plus, a few bucks more now can mean the difference between getting home and catching a ride, then buying it again.
