Hi all, it's been a while since i posted here. I used to be mightbgiant. anyway:
I think i might buy a 1994 f-150 to replace my 1988 f-150. The problem is that current truck has a sliding rear window and the new one does not, are they interchangeable? If so i would like to switch.
Not very if you use some silicone spray lube on the rubber gaskets. Look in this album where I swapped the side windows in my Bronco - it's about the same. Click on the small pics to see the big version and read the captions: http://www.webphotos.com/list_photos...&smi=1&a=13217
I traded a broken window out of a crew cab by myself in about 30 min, and it only took that long because it was raining on me.
I wouldn't really say "prying" - more like "working" it out. You start in a top corner pushing the glass outward, and lift the corner of the seal so it shifts a little with the glass. Then work your way along both sides from that corner lifting the lip and shifting the glass SLIGHTLY more outward each time. You don't want to bend the glass very much or it'll break - try to shift the whole pane by letting it follow that corner out. When you get the whole top edge & one end out, you can slide it sideways to get the other end out & then lift it out of the opening.
