I JUST replaced the slave cyl on my t19 bout 2 months ago and its leaking now grrrrr. Its warrantied but it broke at 5 am right when i went to start plowin , had to use the freaking snow blower again in the back of a chevy. This cant happen again , any tips on how to prevent this again? I had to put the tcase in neutral put the trans in gear and put the t case back in 4hi to get back up to the house i didnt like doing that at all
When that happens don't jam it in gear. Kill the motor and put it in granny and start it in gear. When my slave cylinder broke I was 250 miles from home, and when my bellhoising cracked I had to drice it over a month before I could take the time to fix it.
well i dont have a tach or any experience lol .. so i thought bout waitin til a synchro breaks then start floatin em .. cause plowlin snow im pumpin my clutch ALOT im sure thats wut happened to the slave cyl .. that and cheap quality
Plowing snow there is no way to not be using your clutch a lot, nowhere here you would be or even could be floating gears. On the road is the only place you could get away with it.
I know of some that were converted and use the old style linkage, and I may even try this on my highboy, but I think it will be hard to push and maybe even wear the linkage worse than the hydraulic setup.
Right now we have an 84 Dodge plow truck with the mechanical linkage.
With the snows we have been having, lots of problems with that linkage when you torque the engine.
That truck has a 360, so not even close to diesel torque.
