ive got a 94 explorer with a 4.0 that has been sitting for a year with a bad intake gasket so the other day i put a new one on now it only runs fair with the maf unpluged ive changed the sensor but still the same i hope its a sensor some where and i dont have to put another gasket on allso the check engine light is not on unless i unplug the sensor any ideas thanks
Sounds like you probably have a bad vacuum leak somewhere. Maybe you didn't get the intake air tubing installed correctly, the tubing has a crack in it, or you have some other vacuum leak. Have you checked all the vacuum hoses, PCV elbow, EGR valve, etc.?
