had mine up to 150 kept up to a a corvett 502/c6/gearvenders od/3.54 gears 6250 redline would not do it again through pretty shaky and bouncy at that speed but still had lots of rpm and power to go more speedo around to zero
My truck has a 460, 4 speed, 3.50 gear and 33 inch tires. I've had it up to 4500 rpm in 4th which calculates out to 126mph. Plenty more power and RPM to go as well. Just another 500rpm would take it up to 140mph.
Mine goes so fast that I can barely see it move!....wait.....yup, it's parked. Buford isn't done yet! Besides, even when I finish him, there is no way in hell that I'm going to be tempting fate like that. That much money contained in a 6000 lb package, going as fast as it can on mud terrain tires? Count me out.
I seen a 155 mph, oh wait this is the FTE site not the Honda VFR site.
306_Rapes, 4.56 Gears?? 128Mph Im guessing the crank was spinnin..
When we were kids we dragged 2 1965 F250's for 7 miles, Matted right to the floor. both had 3 on the trees , mine had a 390 4x4 w 4.56 and his was a 240 or 300 2wd 4.56. Both trucks were within one length of each other for the entire 7 miles. Floatin valves the whole way, probably around 90 mph. We just stared at each other drinking beer. Laughing.
Huh - Not today, back then the cops just followed you home to make sure you were ok.

Sounds like me in my 73 F100 with a 360 and an automatic racing a 69 with a 360 and a 3 speed on a narrow *** road in the everglades at night all beered up, topped out about 90, me in 3rd and he never could get out of 2nd, I thought his was going to send a rod out the side of his block and through my door lol, its a wonder we didnt catch our killing
300 I 6, stock 15" tires, 2.90 something gears with a C4, 55MPH, if I am not watching, and I see it hitting 65 MPH, I back it down to 55MPH, that is fast enough.
I'd be afraid to go over 100 with stock suspension, even in a strait line. I don't even plan on taking the swb hotrod I'm building over 130, but it should get there in no time. I've been in several wrecks while riding in Ford trucks, one '70s, two 80's (always a passenger). Every time I bounced around like a ball in a rattle can. Pretty scary, no fatalities though.
WELLLL. I've only got the 300 up to 118 but with the tune maybe more is in the cards. I'm with the others that it's dang scary at that speed. Walks around the lane, floats the front end... It's a ride. I'm guessing that these trucks are air resistance limited to 150-160. Much more than that and the front end will float on you to the point that you lose control and crash. At that speed crashing probably means death, with the exception being a good roll cage, helmet, and fire suit, but who among us does a speed run with all this?
