Hi, i am just wondering if the instrument panel in a 92-96 f150 is able to be used without the ecu.
I am planning on putting a dash and steering collum from a 94 into a 86.
I am unsure if the oil pressure, fuel, water temp, and tac are direct wire to the engine or if they are tied into the ecu. If i remember corectly the speedO is still cable.
I know the chech engine light will flare up but i will just remove the bulb.
I am swapping another motor into this truck, and converting it to 4x4 with a sfs with radius arms or trailing out of a 73-79 , not sure the year as its been rolled on its lid and gutted. So i have time to figure this out. and i have to rewire alot of stuff.
Honestly i do not think so the speedo on 92-96 trucks use the Vehicle Speed Sensor and the Programmable Speedometer Odometer Module to put the Milage and the MPH on the speedo. The easiest way would be to gut the entire 92-96 wiring and rewire your truck with that but right off hand it isnt a take out and put in swap
