I have a Isspro EV Pyrometer on my 3 guage pillar set. The Pyrometer has been acting up lately where it dosent start up with the truck. After I drive about 3-5 miles it just starts reading like normal. then sometimes it just stops for a few miles and then restarts again. It is almost as if there is a looses connection somewhere. The readings are correct when it does work. All the guages use the same ground and power supply so if it was a bad ground the others would also be acting up. I have cleaned and rechecked the thermocouple connection many times, I have the weather pack connection for the connector. I now am thinking it may be a loose wire connection in the amp box. I havent done any of the testing yet due to the weather outside. I was wondering if anyone has had this type if issue as well? I had a problem with the tranny temp but it turned out to be the set screws on the amp box were loose. I dont think there are any set screws like the tranny amp box to check. any suggestions here? thanks Jeff
most likely a loose wire at the amp box. every once in awhile one of my trans temp wires works loose from the vibrating of a diesel. its normal just find the culprit and tighten her back down.......
Not sure if this will help but I put dielectric grease on all my electrical harness connections including the pyro..That harness is out in the elements and is bound to get some corrosion on it sooner or later.Just a thought...
I have to pull my connection at the probe - under the truck and clean each winter. It just started acting up for this winter. Thinking I'm going to do away with the connector and strip/solder/shrink tube the connection.
Mine started doing the same thing. I kept tracking down the wires and making sure they were tight. I finally had to call Diesel Manor and they sent me a new unit. Apparently they, Issopro, had some problems with the sending units. Luckily it was still under warranty.
