Anybody use this stuff? I've heard good things from my Buick buddies years ago. I'd like to paint my frame with it (95 F250SC) not sure how much to get. I remember gloves are a must.
My friend used it on his Dart when in resto. He loved it. I have purchased it for my 56 f100 but haven't applied it yet still boxing the frame. Just make sure you spent a little time on the prep. Nothing will bond to road grime and grease.
Its awsome but it works best actualy with not perfectly prepped metal such as very lighty surface rust. Not kidding I called bs till I seen it. And paint will not stick very well so don't get any on where going to paint. I'm doing a frame off build on a yj jeep and going to por the whole inside of the frame and epoxy coat the outside
The directions say that it does bond even better to a light rust. I was refering to oil, grease, road grime. They have a por-15 primer if you want to be real ****. lol But thats a little to much for me. But like he said above make sure you get the top coat as well because the base coat is uv sensitive but the top coat isn't.
I used it on my frame and fender wells when they rusted out. Like everyone else said make sure to prep it good and wear gloves and long sleeves. I tried about everything to get that stuff off my hands/ arms and nothing worked, I was black for a week. I bought a quart and it was around 50 bucks. I think I used less than half of it brush painting the frame, axles, and fender wells.
Por 15 needs to be top coated as it's UV sensitive. Personally unless your trying to restore a irreplaceable part it's not worth the trouble. They used to have a Por 15 labeled frame paint. I've never used it but it's probably a better choice for what your trying to do.
