1987 6.9 Flywheel replacement

I started tearing my 6.9 apart and noticed that the flywheel has some cracks on it. I have been searching the internet tonight and I can not find a SMF flywheel replacement. If I understand correctly the 6.9 with the T-19 4 speed stock used a SMF? when I look at all the various parts websites they just show DMF which I under stand is only for the ZF5 speed. does anyone know where I could get a replacement stock SMF? Thanks,

Jeff

The single mass conversion for a 7.3 idi will work on a 6.9. I used one from NAPA when I converted my 85 to a ZF5. Be aware it is made in China, but I have 50K on one in the 90. and 15K on the one in the 85 with no problems.

Did you try Rockauto? I'm pretty sure they have a whole variety of solid and dmf to choose from.

Big block are you sure those cracks are not heat checks and can be resurfaced. It would be pretty rare for a flywheel to actually crack.

It is mostly heat checked but there are seceral cracks that are about 3/4 of an inch long and big enough for your finger nail to catch.

I just can not seem to find a replacement OEM type SMF that would use stock parts. All the catalogs want to sell SMF conversions with aftermarket clutches in most cases for the price of 500 bucks.

That flywheel is used on the 351 gasser engines.

Let me make sure I had the right truck selected.

You are correct, I had the wrong engine selected after looking up parts for a friend.

And NAPA only lists the ring gear for the diesel.

If you search for the T 19 solid flywheel, use 86 as the truck year, no dual mass for the ZF 5 in 86.
