393 stroker

Hi Everyone. Im considering building a budget 393 using either an eagle or scat crand and stock 351 rods 302 pistons. What would you guys suggest for heads? I was thinking either the windsor sr or jr iron heads but with the 58cc chamber im having a hard time finding an affordable budget minded 302 piston. Does anyone have any ideas and or experiences? Id really like some imput.
Thanks Guys

depending on your budget, afr 185 outlaws and a ross/weisco piston is in the list of stuff to get. if ross and weisco is too much look into probe or kb forged. dont skimp on heads if its a performance motor, will bite you in the azz later on.

Summit sells a set of hypereutectic 302 flat tops for $99.

+6 on the AFR185 heads.

Get a set of 64cc RHS heads, they're vastly superior to any of the World heads.

I guess i should say that im shooting for approximently 400hp to 425hp with my redline at 6k. I was under the impression that the world heads would be good enough to get those power levels. I would like to run 64cc chambers with the keith black hyppers with 22cc dish to keep the compression down to about 9.3 to one so I can run the cheap gas if neccessary. I would like to stay with iron heads to keep the costs down. What cam would you recomend for a moderate performance build? Would a 224/234@ .050 with .497/520 be to radical to have decent enough vacume for brakes? I should also mention that this will be going into a f150 backed by a zf with 3.55's It doesnt ever really do any towing just more for fun and crusing. Sorry about all the questions, I just want to have a solid idea of what to shoot for before I put down my hard earned cash.
Thanks

No the World heads will leave you well short of the mark, the RHS 180's are exactly what you want. Here is a dyno sim of one potential combo..

looks like a pretty good combination. I looked into the RHS heads and for the slight increase in price they look like a much better performer. Summit even has a special on them for 489 assembled. Not a bad price at all.

I had some good results using the Eagle stroker kit w/Trick Flow(Pobe) pistons and Trick Flow 61cc heads(home ported) ,But I remember that we couldn`t use the rod bearings that came in the kit because they where rubbing on the radius`s of the crank journals.Check for rodbolt to cam clearance.YouTube - 393STROKERer's Channel
