Ok. My mom's cousin bought it new off the showroom floor and my dad bought it from him when I was 13 to be my car. It had a blown up 302 engine and a C4, but it now sports a 289, a Mickey Thompson "cast steel alloy" scattershield, a Toploader 4-speed, and a 9" Trac-Loc! Just converted all four drums to disks over the past year. Good times- I've put about 150,000 on it over the last 20 years or so.
Here's me about a month ago to send to my cousin Julie. Her dad Bill bought it new. She says the car has a bit of a cult following amongst her kids! They've never even seen it in person since they were born and live in N.C.
Julie sent me this back of when it was brand spankin new!
I would go with a DieHard Platinum from Sears. No DieHard has ever let me down. I had an Optima in a Civic I had years ago and it was great until the month the warranty expired, then it died. I lost confidence in Optima after that.
In almost 6 years, I've hardly even seen a Odessy optima battery 15029655 come into my store. And I see alot of batteries come in. I will not spend that much for a battery though. I will buy costco or the ones at my work. Happy reading all!
I don't know from where this Odyssey thing is coming but it's just too expensive, way out from my budget. Since you run a store looks like you may be well versed in batteries. Please recommend something cheaper then that but good of course
If you have a Costco membership I'd head there. O'Reilly Auto Parts batteries are made by East Penn. They make the same batteries for the Cat engines and such. Great ones for sure. Just stay away from the ones that have "J" in the ending of the part number. That means they are made by JCI ( Johnson Control Industries ) their quality is in my mind in question. Advance, Napa, Zone, and WalMart sell JCI batteries. I dont see many Costco brands roll in. Ive been in the auto part gig for just over 6 years. Hope this helps out a lil bit for ya.
