i just wanted to know if there was anything in daily driving that can hurt an old trans, is it hard on the trans to really get on it? i mean from a stop to hit the go pedal?
i justfeel like my trans is on its way out, sometimes it will shift early, and under fast acceleration it will slam into gear and shake the whole truck, just wanted to know if there was anyway to prolong life
the temps usually run 150-160
in traffic 175 but it is pretty hot here in florida
Drive it like an old man! And keep the temps as low as possible. Id highly recomend and after market trany cooler like the Tru-Cool Max or a 6.0 cooler if you dont already have one. But the bad news is if its on its way out then your prob only goin to be able to prolong it for a while, esecially if you tow. I'd get ready for a trany rebuild/replace!
Hard shifts are better than thoughs long grinding stock shifts.......................... your temps are good, I would agree with the fresh fluid........................ Mobil 1 ATF SYN
It sounds to me like its your torque converter. The stock converters cant handle the power, so when you put power to them the stall speed is faster, then when they lock up it jolts the truck, kind of like slamming into gear. A better torque converter might do some good.
