Correct Tire Inflation? 33x12.50 BFG AT
Hey All,
I am running a 95 Bronco, 302, Lift with 33x12.50 BFG All-Terrain KO's on it. My question is what pressure should I be running these tires on a day-to-day basis? The truck sees alot of every day use around town, stop and go rarely over 55 Mph. Sees light trails / dirt roads on the weekends but nothing "off roading" style.
Any suggestions? Experiences?
Thanks!
Alex

The best techique I've used is with chalk. Take a piece of chalk and make a line across the tread of the tires about an inch or inch and 1/2 thick. Make sure the truck is already sitting on flat dry pavement (empty parking lot). Get in and drive the truck slowly so the chalk line is driven over and the tire had rotated once. Get out and inspect the chalk mark. If the tire's chalk mark is rubbed significantly in the middle, the pressure is too high. If it's rubbed to much on the outsides the pressure is too low. You want that chalk mark to be rubbed as evenly as possible. Repeat the process until you have it right but once your close, only vary the PSI by 1 or .5 psi. This will insure EVEN treadwear and longer lasting tires. Always put more PSI of pressure in when you are hauling/towing something.

I have 33X12.50X15 Kumho M/T's mounted on 8" rims. I run 22 lbs in the front and 17 lbs rear when empty (hardly ever) and full 35 when loaded. I have about 15,000 miles on these tires and hardly any wear. These are the first M/T's that I have had theat had wore this good . But anyway, I hope this helps....

Just thought i would put in my 2 cents on this one. I would put a chalk line about an inch or two wide across each tire then drive around 100ft on a flat parking lot with max tire pressure. Then air down your tires till the chalk wears evenly across the entire tires. I did this on my f350 with 35 procomp muds and have 23,000 miles on them with minimum wear. I bet i will get at least 25,000 more out of them. I have a 2002 F350 Diesel 4x4 crew cab and run 47 in front and 36 in rear. If you haul anything of course this will change. I borrowed the technique from a magazine so i hope it works for you.

I think 31-33 is the right pressure. But you say 1 PSI make big difference for you. I´ll add road type, weather conditions, truck weight and if you run with load or not, and also device for checking pressure. So you can see there´re plenty of factors that are wear relationed.
for me 33 is good enough ...
