Wifey texted me that I just received a recall letter in the mail to have this sensor replaced. I have been doing some searching and I see this is a common failure with the 7.3s.
Just wondering why I got the recall letter now, and noticed no other recent posts mentioned receiving a similar letter....?
I get one every few months, it was a big deal maybe a year and a half ago but now It has basically just gone to everyone's junk mail pile.
I don't know why it took them so long to find you, are you in witness protection?
as for if you want to take it in for the recall or not.....I have the original CPS in my truck with 285,000 miles on it. The new CPS's have been proven to cause issues https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...code-info.html
....I choose to keep the one that I know works and I do have a spare in my glove box. Im kinda running off the if it ain't broke theory.
There is another recall for the cruse control de-activation switch. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...nspection.html
That is a whole different animal. Ford has screwed up at least one member's truck doing this recall but all in all it is a pretty safe/idiot proof recall that needs to be taken care of. A lot of members here have chosen to purchase the updated wiring harness for this upgrade and handle it themselves rather take the risk.
I just got my second notice today. The first one within a month of changing it out myself. I have the grey one from Intl. Also have black intermittent one and another grey one for spares just incase.
i got mine from the int. dealer the other day, turns out i did not need it, but now i have a spare. it is grey or cream colored. these are bad? i bought 2 of them 18 bucks a pop with my buddies discount.
